It is not surprising that the townland of Cashelard is making news in a National Newspaper as the most sought after for building sites in the South Donegal region. There is no stopping this vibrant community from developing and embracing change through availing of the many opportunities afforded through the European Union, at local anad national level. The legacy of the peace initiative, with the reopening of the border roads has seen a massive resurgence of house building in the area, spearheaded by the work of the development association whose community resource centre, The Breesy Centre, is nearing completion, aided by ADM/CPA through the National Development Plan and The International Fund for Ireland.
Cashelard Community Development Association is pleased to announce the granting of works in excess of EUR19,000 under the Village Renewal Scheme operated by Donegal County Council.
The Council has agreed to the provision of five street lights and public seating to be provided at the new Breesy Resource Centre in Cashelard. We are also pleased to announce that Cllr. Sean McEniff has secured the provision of an additional two street lights for Cashelard and work will commence shortly on the installation of this lighting. The association are grateful to Cllr. McEniff for his continued support. There is confidence locally that this is only phase 1 of the Village Renewal Scheme in Cashelard, as many more creative ideas to enhance and compliment an already beautiful area have been submitted to the Council for consideration by the Cashelard Community Development Association. The Association are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs
