Donal Callaghan a well know Dairy Farmer in Killygordon will host the first on Farm Open Day on Wednesday 17th June from 11am to 3pm. Donal milks 50 cows and also finishes 15 bulls on the farm. He constructed a new dairy shed in 2014 and installed the NEW Easyfix Cubicle with rubber loop together with their single foam mattresses. The Callaghan’s completed the installation themselves and are extremely happy with the outcome. The cows have adapted very well to the flexible cubicles where they lie for longer periods, showing no nervousness and no injuries. Critical to the animals comfort is the mattress mat that they lie on, the interlocking mat features a 12 mm rubber skin and a very strong interlock on the perimeter. The single foam mattress features 25mm high quality latex foam which is covered in a 500 micron sealed envelope. This open day will provide existing dairy farmers and new entrants with a chance to see products at work and speak with Donal Callaghan and his son Donal. The Easyfix Team will also be present to answer any questions and advise farmers who are thinking of expanding their existing dairy facilities or building new ones.
