Fancy Being up at 3.30 am For a Memorable Outdoor Event?

This Sunday, 21 June, 800 feet above sea level at the iconic site, Grianán of Aileach, Music City 2015 will begin with the summer solstice Dawn Chorus for the third time.

Grianan an Aileach

Under the musical direction of Donal Doherty, Codetta choir will lead the dawn chorus from 3.30am, and will be joined by musicians from the Inishowen Traditional Music Project to create a magical performance at one of Ireland’s most spectacular historical sites.

The organisers are inviting early birds throughout Donegal and Derry to gather up the fort, at 3.30am, and take part in what promises to be a truly magical event, to greet the dawn on the longest day of the year.

Park and ride facilities will be provided at €5 per car in our supervised car park. Numbers are limited. Early arrival is advised. This is a family event. Alcohol strictly prohibited. Due to Health & Safety regulations, access onto the walls of the fort will be restricted.

The Dawn Chorus is part of the wider Music City 2015 programme which will then continue on throughout the day and night on the 21st. For more information and to download the full Music City programme visit www.musiccity.com
