Flock owners must send their census form to the Department of Agriculture by Friday, 30 January. The yearly sheep and goat census is the record retained by the Department as to the number of sheep on each holding. There are 43,000 flock owners in the country.
The application can be completed online for flock owners with a Department of Agriculture ‘agfood’ account or sent by post to Government Buildings, Portlaoise, Co Laois.
Sunday 14 December 2014 was selected as the census date. The requirement to detail any brand markings used in your flock can be ignored where there are no markings used.
