“Everyone with an interest in Hereford breeding will be made more than welcome,” William explained.

“The event will also be used to announce the winners of the 2014 Hereford Herds’ Competition.”

William went on to point out that judging of this year’s competition gets underway on Wednesday next, August
20th.

“The judge will be Mr Gerald Blandford, from Hereford,” he commented.

“A further attraction at the upcoming event will be the display of clipping and show ring presentation skills by Andrew Hughes.”

According to William Haire, demand for Certified Hereford beef continues to grow and this is good news for the breed as a whole in Northern Ireland.

“These are exciting times for local pedigree breeders. We are producing elite breeding stock, the progeny of which are securing a premium return in the marketplace.”

The upcoming barbeque and farm walk will be supported by Caltech-Crystalyx. Earlier this week the company’s David Morgan called in at the Haire farm.

“I would like to wish William and the other organisers a very successful evening,” he said.

“We are delighted to be involved with this event, which show cases the Hereford breed so well.”
