Mark Reynolds 5th Annual Motorbike Run to support GRASP LIFE Foundation in their work of Suicide prevention , counselling and support to those at risk and bereaved, through monthly meetings and drop in centres, and awareness creation of the risks many individuals are currently under. About GRASP LIFE Foundation
- Last year Grasp Life Foundation had the privileged of working with 47 clients who came to Tir-Hugh Resource Centre in Ballyshannon for Counselling.
- Every individual is treated with respect, empathy and is assured of total confidentiality when they come to Tir-Hugh.
- The Age range was between 16 and 87 years with a 50/50 breakdown male and female.
- The service appears to have increased by 15 percent this year to date
- Grasp Life hope to continue with this service into the foreseeable future with your help, as unfortunately, there is none other available to people struggling with life, and what it throws at you, in the area.
- Grasp Life are in Tir-Hugh every Tuesday from 9am -5pm but will facilitate hours outside this if necessary.
- There is a fully accredited, Garda vetted, counsellor to Masters Level with 25 years experience working with mental health issues available.
- This service is free of charge and was mainly the brainchild of Molly Reynolds Creevy Ballyshannon, with the support of the local group of Motorbike aficionadas who originally came up with the idea to hold the event in Mark’s Memory and who acknowledged the absolute need for a counselling service that would be available and accessible to everyone.
- Unfortunately Mark died on the 5th July, 2009 and since then his friends have done what they can in his memory to raise funds for such Iniatives; as he in his all too short life, did much for many individuals, especially during his many years on the continent, both in Germany and Netherlands.
- Through such events and by supporting, e.g. GRASP Life Foundation we feel he is continuing to help others.
- The family acknowledge the support of so many people in this effort, not least the guys on Motorbikes, Collectors, the Grimes family and all our local suppliers who donate food stuff, etc.
- Also the support of Donegal South Forum, Erne Enterprise and Tir Hugh Resource Centre is vital to providing the service of the drop-in centre which supports folk from over a widespread area.
