A beautiful Minke whale was washed up at the back of Creevy pier during the week. The discovery was made by Creevy resident, Kevin O Connor, the Business Development Manager, Great Lighthouses of Ireland, while he was out walking.
It appears as though its tail was partially severed – probably by a passing ship – and as the wind has been from the north these past few days it has been blown onto the south side of Donegal Bay.
This is a wonderful opportunity to observe one of these magnificent creatures up close. Those interested might like to see it before decays.
