My Farming Week – Jim Brennan – 26/03/2012
My name is Jim Brennan and I am the current Chairperson of MED Partnership. I farm 18 hectares of marginal land in Tawley, Co. Leitrim. I keep a flock of sheep and at present I am in the throes of lambing. I lamb outside with minimal assistance and any ewe that proves troublesome has to be culled . The lambing percentage at the moment is 140% which is satisfactory, and will continue to be as long as the fox can be controlled. Last night he had his second victim in spite of numerous snares set to curb his activities!
