Farmers are reminded that the closed period runs until Monday 12th January, which means that the first day for legal Slurry spreading is Tuesday, January 13th 2015.
Slurry spreading can start in 22 counties from Tuesday, 13th January, with farmers in Donegal, Leitrim, Cavan and Monaghan having to wait until February.
Zone A counties (Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow) may spread from Tuesday 13th January.
Zone B counties (Clare, Galway, Kerry, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Roscommon, Sligo and Westmeath) can start from Friday 16th January.
FYM may be stored on-land prior to spreading from the same date, provided the site is suitable. However, spreading is only allowed if ground and weather conditions are suitable.
